4-Part Grinders

A herb mill, also known as a grinder, is an extremely useful device used for grinding herbs. Grinder comes from „to grind“ and means to mill or crush.
The main function of a grinder is to grind herbs. Ground plant material burns and vaporises more evenly, as grinding increases the available surface area of the smoking material.
Mills are usually made from plastic, stone, zinc, or wood; higher-quality models are made from aluminium or stainless steel. Mills with a ceramic coating are becoming increasingly popular, as they stick less and are easier to clean. Mills are available in a wide variety of sizes, colours, and shapes.

It is a device that consists of at least two parts. Both the base and the lid contain several teeth or spikes. The herbs are placed in the chamber and the lid is closed; then, with light pressure, it is turned several times, which grinds the herbs inside.

Four-part mills additionally feature a screen and a collection chamber, known as the kief catcher. Through this screen, the pollen, also called kief, is separated from the herbs. Kief (also keef, kef, or kif) is a fine powder made of trichomes. The pollen can be removed from the kief catcher and enjoyed directly or processed further.
The individual parts of multi-part grinders are either screwed together or held in place by magnets.

Depending on usage, it is advisable to occasionally clean the screen and the other parts with alcohol so that the mill functions perfectly and you enjoy it for a long time.
